Driving in the USA with London England drivers license?

I give up ! Searched till I am blue in the face lol I have read all kind of articles saying a UK tourist can drive in the US with their valid drivers license while visiting BUT can not find any official site that states it in order to print it.
I asked our local police,He flat told me NO ! They would have to obtain an arkansas drivers license or walk.
Can someone send me a link so I can print a copy and have it on hand.
Reason I want to print it is in case she is stopped can show it to police.Anyone knows once you are written a ticket you either pay fine hire a lawyer or go to court.
